Elkan told CNN that its one of the last wilderness areas in Africa. People claimed that the elephants were extincted in Southern Sudan, so when people saw the elephants in the helicopter they cheered and started yelling. People said that the elephant was extinct because of the civil war. The soldiers killed elephants for their meat. Zebras also suffered in the war. We think that its a good news to know that the elephants aren't extinct. Date: November 29,2009Author: N/A About 10,000 albinos were hiding in Africa with fear that people would sell parts of their bodies to witchdoctors. People in Burundi and Tanzania kill them for their parts because they believe they have special powers. Tanzanian officers have been sent to stop these attacks, but they admit its hard. Most of these attacks have been happening in the rural areas because they don't have enough police in there. Now in Tanzania there is the death sentence because of killing and selling albino parts. Our opinion about this news is that it is really shocking that something like this would happen. We think this is very unfair because killing albinos and selling their body parts because of their "magic" is really stupid. We think human rights should make a death sentence because of killing people for their parts. Date: November 22, 2009Author: Unknown author A British couple, Paul and Rachel Chandler, were kidnapped from their yacht in October by pirates. After this event, the pirates threatened the couple that if they didn't pay a ransom of $7 million, they'd be killed. In a video Paul was seen with people surrounding him and pointing at him with guns. Right now the British government denies to pay the ransom. Paul Chandler says that the pirates are losing patience and may kill the couple. In conclusion, if the goverment refuses to pay the ransom, the couple will die. We think that its unfair for the couple to maybe be killed because of the goverment refusing to pay. Last week the hurricane was Category 1, and after Saturday night, the hurricane attacked fiercly and became a Category 2 hurricane. Ida was expected to become weaker before it reached the U.S., but it could bring heavy rain. Heavy rains will be expected in parts of the south this week because of Ida. According to the National Weather Service there were 91 deaths in El Salvador due to another system.We thought this article was interesting because it affects a lot of parts in Central America and in the U.S. We also hope that in the future there won't be another hurricane this bad. Hurricanes can be very distructive because of the power the hurricane contains. The passaport was found in the Pakistani military . It had a Pakistani visa that was issued in August 2001 showing that he enterded Pakistan on September 4, 2001. He is reported to be member of a German cellmate that gave money to 9/11 hijackers.This article was very interesting. At least 540 people were wounded in Sunday's attack; it was the deadliest attack in the capital for more than two years. One of the bombs exploded outside of the governorate building, and the other outside the Justice Ministry. The vehicle carrying the bombs was detonaded outside the ministry building. A lot of smoke was spread in the city, some people died from the smoke.We think this article is really sad but interesting. We think it is really dangerous and it shows us to be aware.
